FC Barcelona are set for a legal battle with superstar Neymar as the Brazilian is reportedly preparing to sue his former club over €30 million.
The 25-yer-old is prepared to take the Catalan giants to court over an unpaid part of his renewal bonus, according to El Mundo.
Neymar had extended his Barcelona contract in July 2016, and the new deal, which was supposed to keep him with the club until 2021, included a massive renewal bonus.
Earlier reports suggested Neymar would be eligible for the bonus if he was still a Barca player by 31 July 2017, and his entourage insist he met this clause after his world record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain was only completed on 3 August 2017.
But the Blaugrana reportedly found out about his intentions to leave the Camp Nou before 31 July already, and subsequently opted to keep the second part of his renewal bonus worth €30 million.
Barcelona, though, are reportedly planning their own court case against Neymar worth €75 million. Their case is based on the player’s profit from the renewed contract plus damages, according to Marca.
