Barça giants confirmed on Friday that Iniesta has signed a lifetime contract, which will see him remain with the club for the rest of his career.
Iniesta’s contract was due to run out at the end of the season, similarly to Messi’s, and the Spanish midfielder wants his teammate’s contract situation to get sorted out soon.
“In Leo’s situation I think that dialogue is something that is not lacking,” Iniesta was quoted as saying by FourFourTwo.
“The club wants Leo to be here, he wants to be here. I hope that his story [at Barca] never ends.
“He is unique, we can’t live without him and I think the club thinks the same way. It’s just a question of time, but I hope he renews as soon as possible.”

Iniesta has made 639 appearances for the Catalan giants, which sees him ranked second for most appearances at the club.
