According to Spanish publication Sport, the Blaugrana are keeping a close eye on Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.
The Catalan side’s coach Ernesto Valverde and the club’s transfer chiefs Pep Segura and Robert Fernandez are all reportedly huge admirers of the 26-year-old and would love to see him play at the Camp Nou.
Although Manchester United are seen as the favourites to land the France international next season, the Catalan club are hoping that they can convince the player to stay in La Liga.
The report states that the Blaugrana want to have a provisional deal for the prolific frontman in place before Griezmann jets off to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The Frenchman, who is nominated for the 2017 Ballon d’Or, has a buyout clause of €100 million and is contracted until June 2022.
Griezmann has made 167 appearances for the Rojiblancos so far, scoring 86 goals and assisting in a further 26. He chose to stay in the summer because of the clubs transfer ban meaning they couldn’t replace him.
