FC Barcelona to put five players up for sale

FC Barcelona are reportedly set to put five stars on the transfer list to try and reduce their exorbitant wage bill.
It is believed that the Spanish side is spending 84 percent of their overall budget on wages at the moment and they know things need to change drastically should they want to rebuild the squad for next season.
According to the Spanish publication Diario Gol, the Blaugrana are ready to sell former Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen, Turkey international Arda Turan, defender Aleix Vidal, Portugal midfielder Andre Gomes and Spanish striker Paco Alcacer.
The club tried to sell a few of these stars in the previous window but found it very difficult as they are all on very good salaries and finding suitable suitors have proven to be difficult.
Vermaelen has been troubled by injury since his arrival at the club, while the likes of Vidal and Turan have failed to keep down a first team spot under former Luis Enrique and current boss Ernesto Valverde.
Paco Alcacer is a young player who has not been given enough opportunities since his move from Valencia, and Andre Gomes has struggled with consistency at the Camp Nou.
