A Vancouver teen who lost his grandfather in the Barcelona terror attacks got to meet Barça stars.
Fourteen-year-old Duncan Bates was in Barcelona when his grandfather Ian Moore Wilson was killed after a van crashed into pedestrians on Las Ramblas.
The family had travelled to the Catalan capital so Bates could take part in a football clinic run by FC Barcelona.
Last week, Bates visited club headquarters where he was greeted by Barça players, including stars Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta, Luis Suárez and Ivan Rakitic.
Bates’ grandmother insisted he attend the clinic because that’s what his grandfather would have wanted.
Members of the team presented Duncan with his own personalized jersey and posed with him for a photo.
Wilson was one of 14 victims in the vehicle attacks in Barcelona and the coastal town of Cambrils.
