It has been reported that several FC Barcelona players were involved in a spat that continued into the tunnel on Sunday, following their heated Catalan derby with Espanyol.
According to Sport, referee Gil Manzano noted in his match report that the two sides were involved in an off-field bust-up after their match on the weekend.
The derby, which ended in a 1-1 draw, saw many heated moments in the 90 minutes, while Gerard Pique was also booed from the first kick of the game.
Towards the end of the clash, Espanyol forward Sergio Garcia and the Blaugrana’s Samuel Umtiti clashed, and the tension is said to have continued off the pitch as the teams made their way to their respective dressing rooms.
Pique, who scored Barca’s late equaliser, apparently had to separate Garcia and Umtiti, with the Spanish striker believed to have directed a racist remark at the France international.
It remains unclear as to whether or not Barca will lay a formal complaint against the Espanyol striker.
The draw means the Blaugrana are now nine points clear of second-placed Atletico Madrid in LaLiga.
